Revue(d)?

I remember "Amateur Photographer" doing a revue on an earlier version of this model a few years back (Before the gold plate). In short as I remember, it's performance was very good, but the cosmetics let it down badly, as during its use in the revue, some paint had worn off with the handling, despite the careful handling of this expensive model! Kind of reminds us, doesn't it? `They don't make 'em like they used too'!! I'd love to own an original Rolei/2.8 F Planar in first class condition. I used to enjoy watching `fashion shoots' to see the guys cranking film thro' these like there was not a tomorrow, the girls were nice too!
Variant

I have the 75th year anniversary variant of this camera. There are some small, but unimportant differences as far as performance is concerned. First is that the taking lens is a Rollei Planar HFT and it is still a great lens. The gold plating really does not do a thing for me; it is simply cosmetic. There is a different shutter, too, but the functions are the same. This is a fine camera with a lot to like about it.
Nice, but not the best

This is a reissue from F&H. At first sight, I don't like the grey paint, neither the brown croco. Planar with HFT coatings must be amazing though. Functionally, the camera has a better lightmeter thant the F serie, which was CdS and galvanometer. This one has Silicon detector, electronics, and of course rely on batteries. The rest of the technical stuff is a cheaper version of the F serie of old (closing back is the one of the T serie, no film feeder feelers rolls, and that's an important difference, no more nice DoF interactive window. Better screen, surely :-)

Should go around 2500 to 4000 USD depending of the condition
